One of the most frequently asked questions I get as a beauty blogger is about de-potting eye shadows. I de-pot everything I possibly can and fill up zpalettes like it’s my job. I like to have everything organized and easy to grab. Single shadows are just so impractical for people with a large or growing makeup collection. And they are unheard of for the pros! You would never see a makeup artist on set with 50 single MAC shadows laid out on a table. Everything is in a palette and I mean everything!
There are several methods for de-potting. Bake it in the oven, hold it over a candle, pry it out with brute force and melt it out with a flat iron. I’ve tried them all! And the method I like the best is done using the flat iron. It’s quick, easy and I’ve yet to have a causality using this method!
So what are you waiting for! Order your zpalettes and get started!!! Don’t forget to Back to Mac your MAC containers and I’ve heard that you can take any other plastic makeup containers to an Origins counter and they will recycle them for you!

She even added a video tutorial for those of us who learn better that way. And while you’re over there, make sure you follow her blog and YouTube channel because she is amazing and has the sweetest heart ever. […]
